Wine bottle redesign ideas
These are a few wine bottle designs that I thought need redesigning or I wanted to redesign but some of them were really unique and I just wanted to take a picture of them.

Made in California this is one of my options

Founded in 1983 in South Central Washington the Barnard Griffin is one of my choices

This was perfect I loved looking at this bottle and just wanted to show it. I liked everything from the photography to the matt black bottle.

This one was perfect too as well with a unique design and concept

A family owned winery in Arlanza Spain. Trying to find more information on Arlanza because this seems like the option I want to go with at the moment.

Founded in 1839 Nappa Cellars have been around for a long time this was an option but they have an iconic look already that I don't care much for messing with.

Based in Australia Foxhorn Vineyards is one option but to be honest I just like the fox

This another one of my favorite choices to redesign. This is another Austrilia based winery that is also family based as well. Their wine is main on the Murray River Bank so I think I can play off of that.

The design and packaging for this was great

Personal Workspace
This is were I do all my personal work, on my kitchen table or at a long table. I like having room to walk around or just know I have space. Also I have to have music either in my ear or if people are sleep I have my headphones in. I don't feel comfortable in a closed area. So it's just me, my table, my rooster, & my demon dog that walks in out from time to time, he goes by Riley.

Dustin Pearce: From graduation to a career
I don't know if that is the real title but I found this quite interesting. This video was made by Dustin Pearce who graduated from Miami University with a BFA in Graphic Design. He talks about his struggles after graduation trying to find a job and he also gives tips. This video was worth the watch to me and I found it insightful as well. I found this by listening to The Deep End Podcast.

Self Portrait
I'm pretty sure I spelled Portrait wrong but it looks right. This was an interesting process to say the least as I tried to find what I wanted to do with this assignment because it has been a while since I put myself in anything that I have done. I started with pictures of myself and it did not turn out the way I wanted it to. So I went with what I knew best which was sketching and using my imaginations as much as possible. If you're wondering how I came up with this composition it was a stream of conscious. Whatever I was thinking or feeling at the time went on the page, overall it came out great.

Designs that influence me
These are a few designs that I think look good and influence me. I am beginning to love the combination of digital and traditional when it comes to design but I am heavily influenced by Nike and their ads.
This was done by Alexis Marcou for an ESPN magazine, I love his use of traditional medium mixed with some graphics to create a truly unique illustration. As far as other designs go, I like what I like, it just depends but I'm finding that I like advertising and posters. I like the blend of type mixed with illustrations and graphics that come together to form a great composition. I like designs that wow people and makes me think how did they come up with an idea like that, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Its hard for me to find a bad design, not really, because if it is I kind of look past them...actually no. Marta has some bad ads/designs, some of those posters on those trains do not appeal to me at all. Yeah, lets just leave it at that.

Some design work
This is my first post for this blog something I don't do often, well I use to but I stopped but that's another story, but here are some of my favorite pieces that I did in my "sophomore" year. Looking at them now I was heavily vector inspired or based at the time which is interesting because I want to try and go for a more organic look now. This post is going to be weird until I remember how to use this thing again.
This has to be one of my favorites out of everything I did last year and I think this is the event poster, not for sure. Looking at it now I could still tweak some things to make it better but at the time this is and still is my favorite. Another one of my favorites because I played around with all the programs really. The one on the far right is my favorite because it highlights my imagination which is a cheetah flying a shoe, I have to get back to thinking like that more for this class.
